Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

The things owner-operators and fleet managers ask us most. Don’t see yours? Send us a message.

Working with us

What kinds of trucks do you work on?

Class 6–8 diesel trucks: highway tractors, straight trucks, box trucks and vocational units, plus dry van, reefer and flatbed trailers. Call with your make and model if you are unsure.

Do you offer mobile service?

Yes. Most of our work is done on-site — at your yard, a customer’s dock, a truck stop or the roadside — using a fully equipped service truck.

Are you available 24/7?

Roadside and breakdown calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Scheduled service runs Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

How do estimates work?

We diagnose first, then give you a written estimate. No work beyond the approved amount is done without your OK.

Do you work with fleets?

Yes. We offer scheduled yard service, PM programs, inspections and priority breakdown response for local fleets of every size.

What areas do you serve?

Wheeling and the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago, including Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights, Northbrook, Glenview, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Palatine and Schaumburg.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards, company checks for approved fleet accounts, and common fleet payment methods. Ask when you call.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes. Parts carry the manufacturer’s warranty and our labor is warrantied as well. We will explain the specific coverage on your estimate.

About repairs

Do you repair engines on-site?

Many engine repairs — injectors, sensors, turbos, leaks, adjustments — can be done at your yard or location. Larger jobs such as major overhauls are planned with you in advance, including where the work will be done and how long the truck will be down.

Can you clear my check-engine light?

We can clear codes, but we only do it after the cause is identified and repaired. Clearing a light without a fix usually means you will see it again on the road — often at a worse time.

How often should air brakes be checked?

Brake adjustment should be checked as part of every pre-trip, and a full brake inspection is a good idea at every PM service. High-mileage and stop-and-go units may need attention more often.

Can you do PM services at our yard?

Yes. Yard service is one of the main ways we work with fleets — we come out, service units on-site and leave a written report for each truck.

How long does a DOT inspection take?

A typical tractor or trailer inspection takes about one to two hours, longer if repairs are needed. Fleet inspections can be scheduled back to back at your yard.

How do I know if my clutch needs replacing?

Slipping under load, a high engagement point after adjustment, burning smell or chatter when pulling away are common signs. We can measure free play and remaining adjustment to tell you how much life is left.

Truck down?
We’re on it.

Tell us where the truck is and what it’s doing. We’ll give you a straight answer, an honest arrival time and a written estimate before any work starts.
