Service 02 · Computer Diagnostics

Truck diagnostics that turn a warning light into a clear answer

A code tells you where to look, not what broke. We read the modules, watch live data and test the circuit until the cause is proven.

§ 01 Signs it’s time

Call us if you’re seeing this

  • 01Check-engine, stop-engine or aftertreatment lamp on
  • 02Engine derate or speed limited to a crawl
  • 03Intermittent faults that clear and come back
  • 04ABS or traction lamp after a brake or wheel job
  • 05Gauges, lights or dash modules acting up
  • 06Codes that keep returning after a parts swap

§ 02 Our approach

How we handle computer diagnostics

Throwing parts at a fault code is the most expensive way to fix a truck. Our diagnostic process connects to the engine, transmission, ABS and body modules, reviews code history and freeze-frame data, and then confirms the failure with measurements — pressures, voltages, resistance and live sensor readings.

For intermittent problems we look for patterns: does it happen hot, cold, loaded, on bumps, after a regen? That context, plus a careful inspection of wiring and connectors, is often what solves the faults other shops chase for weeks. You leave with documented findings, not just a cleared light.

§ 03 How the job runs

Four steps, start to finish

  1. Connect

Full module scan with active, inactive and historical codes.

  2. Interpret

Freeze-frame and live data reviewed against the conditions you reported.

  3. Prove it

Pinpoint tests on the suspected circuit or component.

  4. Report

Plain-language findings, repair options and a written estimate.

§ 04 Scope

What’s included

Every job is quoted in writing first. Here’s what this service typically covers.

  • Multi-module scan and code report
  • Live data and freeze-frame analysis
  • Forced regeneration and service routines where applicable
  • Circuit, sensor and actuator testing
  • Parameter checks after component replacement
  • Clear documentation for your maintenance records

§ 05 FAQ

Computer Diagnostics questions

Can you clear my check-engine light?

We can clear codes, but we only do it after the cause is identified and repaired. Clearing a light without a fix usually means you will see it again on the road — often at a worse time.

Can you diagnose a derate on the roadside?

Yes. Most derate conditions can be diagnosed on-site with our scan tools. If the fix needs parts, we tell you what is needed and how quickly we can get the truck moving.

Do you provide a written report?

Yes. Every diagnostic visit includes a summary of codes, test results and recommended repairs that you can keep with the unit’s maintenance file.

Truck down?
We’re on it.

Tell us where the truck is and what it’s doing. We’ll give you a straight answer, an honest arrival time and a written estimate before any work starts.
